volare! whoa-oh…
This post is about how my Friday last week went. What I liked in particular was before the Accenture job application exam in our school started. The proctor asked us to go to a website but our computers were still locked. While she asked someone for assistance, all of us were guessing what the password is. To cut the long story short, I figured it out LIKE A BOSS. Hahaha.
I know what you’re thinking: that song played in the Lizzie McGuire movie. Yes! Haha. It’s a song from the 50’s, I heard the original one first. #hipstervibes #charot
For some weird reason I heard “volar” in both of my Spanish classes. First one was Nicole singing it while we were doing our seatwork and the other was RJ telling in the other class that if she could have any talent, she would like to fly. She mentioned later that she would like to visit Antarctica and see the penguins (to which I suddenly butted in with “que no volarán” jajajaj).
I remember it was around this time of last year when I was excited to co-head CADs’ YEC production staff dance: Rocketeer (“fly…”) and “I Believe I Can Fly.” What a coincidence. Something about flying again. I really thought I wouldn’t be doing anything like it this time around being a senior and busier but last Friday, I was teaching choreo again but with Sproove, SPEED’s DT, this time.
It has been such a blessing being part of Sproove. Just to be able to make it to RiB finals alone has been increíble, then to place third is icing on the cake, but then to actually get gig requests afterwards is just… wow. Sadly, we were not able to cater to all of them as we have different schedules. But now, we’re cooking up something for Kythe week. The most amazing one we got is from GlaxoSmithKline. Instead of a talent fee, they’re offering vitamins and medicines for our kids in SPEED if we dance to their event! How cool is that? I’m hoping and praying that this one would push through.
I might be working with fewer numbers now and know better, but I’m still gonna need God’s grace, as always, to pull this whole thing off along with my more important priorities. Also, the need to believe has shifted not just on pulling off the dance, now it’s also on what I ought to do right after graduation. Faith-stretching and really scary. I still haven’t made up my mind yet. But God’s been faithful. Here’s to wishing me and my batch 2012 the very best. Go, seniors, go! Lipad!
P.S.: I wish my friend Nico the very best in heading the succeeding prod dance for CASCADE! Make us proud. Kayang-kaya mo ‘yan! Ika nga ni Megumi sa Gokusen, “FIGHT-O, OH!” >:D<
