I saw the premiere of American Idol and was excited. As for the 2nd episode, I feel like I’m getting older because I don’t get to catch it as faithfully as I could before. I’m still waiting for my manok, and I really expect that I might not enjoy it as the previous season because I really rooted for the latest winner Scotty McCreery since his first audition. I’m also waiting for another Casey Abrams who gave me that “OOH! Wow!” electric soulful musical feeling whenever he sings. AI still started strong though it has new competing singing contests The Voice and X Factor, as it was them (in America, at least) who started with the singing then judging with brutal honesty afterwards format. It’s great that the new shows addressed what Idol lacks. (It’s ironic, though, that The Voice presents itself as being more serious and credible in judging with finding their format of finding the winner, but the revolving chairs at blind auditions and the battling of contestants by coaches are still so gimmicky.) Now that these shows exist, I wish people would stop dissing on what they hate about AI, one of which is the continuum of “white male with guitar” winners since David Cook. Let’s just all patronize our own preferred shows and be happy, or wait for me to migrate to the States and become the first Fil-Am Idol by season 13. :) Weh. Hahaha.
